The Tobacco Factory’s studio theatre hosts the award-winning adaptation of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice And Men performed by touring theatre company Mind The Gap. Set in the USA of the 1930s, the story tells the vicissitudes of George and Lennie, two migrant ranch workers who are chasing the American Dream during the Depression era.
Lennie is a gentle giant who has no concept of his own strength, and this condition gets him into trouble, so they are obliged to drift from job to job. George is sharp and sensible, looking out for Lennie like a brother.
Told in flashbacks, the novel has been adapted by playwright Mike Kenny, who embraces Mind The Gap’s quest for inclusive theatre.
